Trip Itinerary

Day One

Our shuttle van will be ready for you and your gear in front of the Stagecoach Inn at 7:15 a.m We will be leaving at 7:30 a.m. En route we will stop at a convenience store for last minute personal supplies, fishing licenses, and to use the bathrooms. The drive from the Stagecoach Inn to the put in Corn Creek is about a 2 hr scenery-filled drive, over both asphalt and dirt roads.

Once you have arrived at Corn Creek everyone will then participate in a thorough water safety presentation, and head off down the Salmon River! This first day on the river starts out with rapids that feature fun roller coaster waves, such as Killum and Gunbarrel and Rainier Rapid.

Before long everyone will be comfortable running the rapids, and be ready for more whitewater action in the days to follow. We stop for lunch in the early afternoon, and after some more great rafting we arrive at camp in the late afternoon. Before Happy Hour, snacks and beverages are served, your guides will unload the gear boats distributing tents, sleeping pads and your personal dry bags.  They will also explain how the “bathroom” system works and help you with the set up of your personal camping gear.  The evening then flows into a night of delicious food, campfires, camaraderie, star watching and more.

Camping Day 2

Each day our Salmon River rafting trips follow a similar routine, although we do like to keep our trips flexible and choose activities that suit each group.

Each day begins with a multi-course breakfast and  fresh brewed coffee, as the sun slowly creeps over the ridgeline to dry the morning dew off your tent. After breaking camp, rigging the rafts, and dawning your days river gear, we set out for the next days adventure.  After making a stop to soak in a natural hot spring we will finish the day with thrilling rapids such as Hancock, Wake-Up, Bailey Falls, Big Mallard, Elkhorn and others. The Salmon River and canyon offers a myriad for rafters to see and do, and we take in as much as humanly possible along the way! A gourmet deli style lunch is served in the early afternoon on the banks of the Salmon River, designed to give everyone the energy to finish off the day. We reach camp in the early evening which is either on a spectacular white sand beach or a tranquil forest glade. This gives you the opportunity to hike, fish, swim, reflect with friends during happy hour or just relax under the shade. Our dinners have been labeled as some of the finest outdoor dutch oven cuisine imaginable and are presented in our riverside dinning room, complete with tables and chairs. Each night will be spent under the stars and the sound of this magical river will lull you to sleep.

Final Day 3

After another fulfilling Salmon River breakfast our chartered jet-boat will pick us up around 10:00 a.m. Once we are all aboard we take about a 3 hour trip back up river to Corn Creek where it all started. Lunch will be served at the Corn Creek camp site, prior to boarding a shuttle and heading back to Salmon, arriving around 4:00 p.m. that evening. Once you arrive in Salmon you are taken to your hotel or the airport, depending on your post-trip schedule.

Itinerary Changes

Vacations conducted in a wilderness area are mostly controlled by Mother Nature. So there may come a time that changes in the itineraries described above will need to be adjusted for reasons we can not control.

“We had a great time! I really can’t tell you how much we enjoyed it. All the guides were amazing and we felt very taken care of. The food everyday was exceptional and Terry was very professional. I hope that I can get my parents to come out early next year (but if not James and I will be back)”
