Our company is a team of guides who have guided on countless other rivers during their noteworthy river guide “careers” but who love the Salmon more than any other wilderness waterway. Over the years, we just keep getting drawn back to the mighty Main Salmon. Perhaps it is the Salmon’s playful roller coaster rapids, endless Rocky Mountain vistas, incomparable white sand beach campsites, spectacular wildlife viewings, or all of that combined. Ultimately, you cannot adequately describe the spirit of the Salmon, you can only experience it. As the result of this passion for the Salmon, your trip is led by folks who truly respect and revere the river canyon and all that it has to give.

It’s Your Trip Not Ours

River Time Guide Service has been leading trips on this magnificent river for over 10 years and we are confident that you will find our trips to be first rate. We provide a foundation of safety and seamless logistics along with guides who possess a wealth of knowledge about the Main Salmon’s history and wildlife. From there, we create the trip you want, adjusting to your style and needs. Among many things that can be adjusted, we can provide for special meal requests, stop for extended side canyon hikes, camp near good fishing holes and so on.

We employ some of the best guides in the business. Guides who are friendly, knowledgeable, fun, humble, caring, and just plain good to be around. Guides who know it is your trip and will do all they can to make sure you are having the best time possible. They’ll show you their favorite sites along the way, hike with you to magnificent vistas, introduce you to kayaking and most of all make you feel welcome visiting this remarkable wilderness. Smaller Group Sizes

Typically, our Main Salmon trips average around 12 guest’s and 4 guides. We have the ability to take up to 24 guest’s but we generally prefer to keep group sizes smaller in order to maximize your wilderness experience.

Your Convenience

All personal camping gear is included at no additional charge. We supply tents, sleeping pads and sleeping bags that are laundered after each trip.

Full Safety Orientation and Gear

Before each Salmon River rafting trip, we provide a thorough safety and instructional presentation. For example, as part of our full safety gear ensemble each client that paddles in the inflatable kayaks are provided with helmets. We also provide wetsuits and paddle jackets free of charge when needed.

Your Safety

Safety is always a concern so we believe that the safest  possible trip starts with appropriate staffing. Therefore, we always have at least two rafts and two guides on each trip. And our guide to guest ratio is one guide for every three or four guests. A ratio that enhances each guest’s experience in relation to safety, comfort and good company.

A Verity of  Options

With RTGS you can choose between camp trips, lodge trips or a rafting/jet-boat combination. We offer 5-day camping and lodge trips along with a 3-day jet back trip. While on the river you have the option of being in a paddle boat, on inflatable kayaks or you can enjoy the whitewater in the comfort of a oar boat. We are also happy to customize trips to fit your needs whenever possible.
